Messenger, which keeps trying to stand apart from Facebook, is previewing Messenger Day, a Stories-like feature, in Poland for now.
With Messenger Day you can share photos and videos that disappear after 24 hours, add text, drawings, and filters, and browse friends’ updates in My Day. Unlike Snapchat, it leans harder on stickers across many categories so you can say how you feel or what you plan to do.
After Instagram Stories, Facebook is now trying the same idea inside Messenger, smartly testing where Snapchat is not yet huge. Facebook’s note matches that: “Messenger is where people come to share what happened during the day with family and friends. We are running a small test in Poland so those moments can be shared visually too. That is all we have to say for now.”
Messenger Day only works inside the Messenger app. You will not see the stories on Facebook itself.
