As an Apple fan, watching the prices already hurt; now they have burned to ash. Between tax policy that already made us buy some of the world’s most expensive devices, and either FX moves or extra import taxes pushed by local makers selling China-built gear as “domestic,” prices climbed again. As of 1 January, Apple’s Turkey store started selling at the new rates. iPhones are up about 150-250 TL, Macs 200-300 TL, iPods 20-60 TL, and installment plans shrank from 9 months to 6.

16 GB iPhone 6: 2,349 TL to 2,499 TL
64 GB iPhone 6: 2,649 TL to 2,849 TL
128 GB iPhone 6: 2,949 TL to 3,199 TL
16 GB iPhone 6 Plus: 2,649 TL to 2,849 TL
64 GB iPhone 6 Plus: 2,949 TL to 3,199 TL
128 GB iPhone 6 Plus: 3,249 TL to 3,499 TL
16 GB iPhone 5S: 1,949 TL to 2,049 TL
13-inch Retina MacBook Pro rose from 3,499 TL to 3,799 TL (a 300 TL jump, one of the steepest). 13-inch MacBook Air went from 2,499 TL to 2,699 TL.
16 GB iPod touch: 579 TL to 629 TL
iPod shuffle: 129 TL to 149 TL
iPod nano: 549 TL to 619 TL
Consolation for the broke: annual iOS and Mac Developer Program fees also rose in Germany and the UK. Germany went from about $97 (80€) to $120 (99€); the UK from about $93 (60£) to $123 (79£). So the hikes are not only here.
