Danny Boyle's Steve Jobs film, starring Michael Fassbender and Seth Rogen, gets an official trailer ahead of its October 30 release in Turkey.

Few people still need an introduction to Steve Jobs, who treated zero-defect work as a principle so he could ship better technology. The same bold streak that made so many people fall for the iPhone also put Apple in a long fight with the Android world, a fight Apple often won. Jobs pushed simplicity and invention into fonts, industrial design, operating systems, and interfaces, and he redirected the tablet market as well.

About three and a half years have passed since the death of the man who drilled “Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish” into a Stanford commencement audience. Walter Isaacson’s biography sold heavily afterward. The rushed film simply titled Jobs drew harsh reviews and never found the audience people expected, largely because it covered only a slice of his life and left the bigger arcs elsewhere. I think the new film will clear that bar.

Opening in Turkey on October 30, it is directed by Danny Boyle, with Michael Fassbender as Steve Jobs and Seth Rogen as Steve Wozniak. It is already on my must-watch list. For now we make do with the trailers, while I expect this one to bury the earlier film in the footnotes of history.
