Visa’s new video series shows how eager the company is to open its API platform to financial firms and startups. After months of Visa Developer clips, the latest ones lean on testimonials from organizations and young companies.

The platform went live in February and is built so startups and finance companies can plug into the payment network and tighten ties with Visa. Earlier videos cover practical tips, including how to set up two-way SSL handshakes with Visa’s tools.
The Visa Developer contest winner shows up too
Last week Visa started another round of clips. One features Utah-based Mountain America Credit Union. Another highlights Ledge, winner of the Visa Developer contest held earlier this year in Austin, Texas. Ledge is an app for small community fundraising among family and friends. Austin was the first stop on Visa’s multi-city contest; San Francisco followed in June. Mastercard has run a similar Masters of Code contest.

Across the series, Visa’s hunger to connect with finance firms and new startups is plain. APIs are a fresh arena where payment networks can compete.
